The group exhibition Parallels, showcasing eight architectural practices, opened at Aloki in Dhaka on Saturday.

The exhibition is conceived as a book of eight short stories, without text or illustrations, where three-dimensional works narrate ideas through experience and spontaneous expression.

Each participating practice presents a self-portrait of its ideas, processes, and repertoire. Together, these works offer a glimpse into the evolving culture of architectural practice in Dhaka, rooted in shared contexts yet marked by distinct trajectories.

The eight studios share formative experiences, including mentorship, teaching, competitions, and camaraderie, while continuing to remain anchored in Dhaka despite gaining global exposure.

Parallels marks a conscious moment of reflection at the midpoint of their journeys, inviting audiences to engage with the genetic code of their practices and the creative spirit of a generation.
