Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 13 people in the last 24 hours under Operation Devil Hunt Phase-2, conducting drives in several police station areas across the capital.
Police from Cantonment, Tejgaon, Pallabi, Banshal, Jatrabari, Shahjahanpur, Uttara West and Hatirjheel carried out the operations in crime-prone areas on Tuesday.
Among the arrests, one person was detained by Cantonment Police, two by Tejgaon Police, three by Pallabi Police, one by Banshal Police, three by Jatrabari Police, one by Shahjahanpur Police, one by Uttara West Police and one by Hatirjheel Police.
Cantonment Police arrested Tanzir Hasan, 22, during a daylong operation. Tejgaon Police arrested Sohel, 30, and Saika Majed, 65. Pallabi Police detained three individuals—Kazi Rifat Ahmed, 36, Sohel, 25, and Md Khokon, 20.
Banshal Police arrested Md Abdul Hannan, 35. Jatrabari Police detained three individuals—Imran, 32, Liton, 35, and Russell, 39. Shahjahanpur Police arrested Md Arif Hossain Sujon, 30.
Uttara West Police arrested Md Rupkulla, 26, while Hatirjheel Police detained Julhas Munshi, 36.
All the detainees have been sent to the court, police said.
