Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have arrested 39 individuals across five police stations during the second phase of Operation Devil Hunt over the past 24 hours.
The operation targeted criminal activities in Jatrabari, Sher-E-Bangla Nagar, Khilkhet, Banani, and Mirpur.
Banani police arrested five suspects, Khilkhet ten, Mirpur three, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar eight, and Jatrabari police apprehended thirteen individuals.
According to Jatrabari Police sources, on Saturday, the team conducted a day-long operation in crime-prone areas, arresting 13 people. Officers recovered several kilograms of cannabis from their possession.
The detainees include Abul Kader Mia, 20, Md Hossain, 30, Md Hasan, 25, Md Tajim Chowdhury, 20, Shariful Islam Sharif, 30, Shamim Ahmed Joy, 24, Md Robin, 25, Md Selim Mia, 45, Badhan Chandra Debnath, 26, Ajit Dewri, 32, Md Kamrul, 31, Md Ramzan Sheikh, 22, and Md Jalal, 24.
Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police arrested eight individuals involved in regular and old criminal cases.
They are identified as Hossain Mohammad Jalal Shanto, 35, Md Al Amin, 28, Bellal Hossain, 33, Zainal Abedin, 52, Shri Apu Banerjee, Md Anwar Hossain, 52, Md Anwar Hossain, 48, and Md Shariful Islam, 32.
Khilkhet police conducted raids in local crime hotspots on the same day, arresting ten suspects.
They are identified as Md Alamin Momen, 33, Suman Mia, 35, Md Delwar Hossain, 32, Saiful Islam, 22, Md Sadek Mia, 52, Md Yunus Ali, 56, Md Shakil Ahmed, 37, Md Salman, 21, Md Nahid, 23, and Md Rakib, 22.
They are identified as Md Rabbi, 19, Omar Hossain Tutul, 20, Md Sujon Hossain, 30, Md Rasel Jofdar, 30, and Sohel Kha.
Mirpur Model police apprehended three individuals involved in regular cases and other offences. They are identified as Md Ramzan 20, Md Shuvo 20, and Md Abdullah Matabber 23.
All arrested suspects have been forwarded to the relevant courts for further legal action.
