Law Adviser Asif Nazrul has said that bail orders will now be issued online, making the process of prisoner release easier and more efficient.

He made the statement on Tuesday at an event organised by the Attorney General’s Office at the Supreme Court Auditorium.

Starting Wednesday, bail documents will also be provided online to prevent harassment following bail, the law adviser added.

Nazrul said, “Prisoners often face difficulties when their bail orders fail to reach the jail on time. From now on, a single click will send the bail bond order directly to the prison, replacing the previous system where the order would take 12 steps to reach the jail.”

He further said a separate secretariat for the judiciary will be established during the tenure of the interim government.

In response to a question, the law adviser said, “The separate secretariat for the judiciary will be set up during the interim government’s time. The laws on the separate judiciary secretariat, enforced disappearance, Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), and human rights will be completed in the coming weeks.”

“We have implemented many reforms in the Ministry of Law on our own, without any external assistance,” he added.

The event was chaired by Attorney General Md Asaduzzaman, with additional Attorney General Arshadur Rouf and Barrister Aneek R. Haque also addressed the gathering.
