BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has commented that the instability in the hills during the Sharadiya Durga Puja is “part of a national and international conspiracy.”

He said those who could not accept the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government are deliberately creating an unstable environment in the hills during the puja. Until now, attempts have been made to push the Durga Puja festival towards division for political gains. Efforts to break the harmony still persist, he said.

Ruhul Kabir Rizvi made these remarks to journalists on Wednesday morning after visiting a puja pavilion in Nayapaltan, Dhaka.

He said, “A conspiracy is underway from a neighboring country to undermine Durga Puja. Sheikh Hasina wanted to establish a family rule. She considered the country as her father’s property. A certain country wanted to control Bangladesh by keeping Hasina in power.”

He further said, “On the instructions of Tarique Rahman, BNP leaders and activists across the country are alert to ensure the puja concludes without any disruption. Hindus and Muslims have unitedly taken a vow to ensure the puja is completed smoothly.”
