A man was killed and two others remain missing after being crushed between two launches at the Sadarghat terminal in Dhaka on Wednesday. The accident occurred as holidaymakers were heading home to celebrate with their families.
According to sources, the incident took place when the launch “Zakir Samrat-3” suddenly hit “Asha Jaoa-5” from behind while the latter was boarding passengers from a trawler. One individual was crushed to death on the spot, said Sadarghat police station Officer-in-Charge Sohel Rana.
In addition to the fatality, two people sustained injuries, while two others are still missing till the filing of this report. Police and Fire Service personnel are currently conducting a rescue operation to locate the missing individuals.
