OMODA has set a new standard for fuel efficiency in luxury sport utility vehicles (SUVs), completing a cross-country endurance test of its flagship OMODA 9 Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV).
During the real-world test on Bangladeshi roads, the OMODA 9 surpassed its official claim of a 1,200km range, covering an impressive 1,255km on a single full tank containing 65 litres of fuel and one full battery charge.
The achievement brings the vehicle’s running cost down to just Tk6 per kilometre, marking a breakthrough for a premium SUV in its class, the company said in a press release.
The test route, designed to simulate diverse driving conditions, began at the OMODA Service Center in Tejgaon, Dhaka, and passed through Cumilla, Chattogram, and Cox’s Bazar, before reaching Teknaf. The return journey also included a crossing of the Padma Bridge at Mawa.
“The OMODA 9 Plug-in Hybrid’s Super Hybrid System optimises power between its 1.5T engine and triple electric motors,” said OMODA JAECOO Senior Sales Executive Josh Timothy.
“With a proven 1,255km range in real-world conditions, the vehicle offers a seamless long-distance travel experience, effectively eliminating ‘range anxiety’ and reducing the need for frequent infrastructure stops,” he added.
The success of the OMODA 9 PHEV in this test highlights its combination of luxury, advanced technology, and exceptional fuel efficiency, making it a standout option for environmentally conscious consumers seeking a premium driving experience.
