National University (NU) has issued special instructions to prevent irregularities in the 2024 Honours 4th year examinations.

The directive requires centre chiefs and officials to ensure strict verification of question papers, answer scripts and related documents, the university said in a notice.

Question papers must be collected from the treasury after proper code verification, and any unauthorised opening of question packets will make the responsible authorities liable for action.

Invigilators have been asked to verify admit cards and registration documents before signing attendance sheets, while roll numbers and course codes must be checked carefully.

Students must remain seated until all answer scripts are collected, and the use of mobile phones or electronic devices inside exam halls will be treated as a punishable offence.

The university also warned against fake candidates and instructed officials to report any malpractice.

Students with special needs will be allowed an additional 30 minutes to complete their examinations, according to the directive.
