Walton High-Tech Industries PLC secured three SDG Brand Champion Awards 2026 for renewable energy, climate adaptation and sustainable electronics manufacturing at a ceremony held at the Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel in Dhaka on Saturday evening.
The company was named Most Sustainable Electronic Item Manufacturer of the Year and won awards in the Affordable and Clean Energy and Climate and Environment categories for initiatives including energy efficiency, net-zero programmes, green transformation and climate adaptation, Walton said in a press release.
The latest recognition follows Walton’s success in 2025, when it also received awards in three categories.
The awards were accepted on behalf of Walton by Additional Managing Director Md Yusuf Ali; Senior Executive Directors Md Abdullah-Al-Mamun, Shahjalal Hossain Limon, Tanvir Anjum and Protic Kumar Modak; Chief Marketing Officer Zoheb Ahmed; and Head of EHS and Sustainability Md Mostafizur Rahman Razu.
Yusuf Ali said the company was proud to receive the awards for a second consecutive year and thanked the organisers and jury for recognising its sustainable industrial-development efforts.
Walton has aligned its manufacturing operations with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and Bangladesh’s national energy and power policies by adopting environmentally sustainable practices at its factories and workplaces, he said.
The company has undertaken renewable-energy and green initiatives to reduce carbon emissions and improve the efficient use of energy and water.
Walton is implementing a self-financed 50-megawatt solar power project at its headquarters in Chandra, Gazipur. It has installed 19.20MW of capacity through rooftop, ground-mounted and what it described as the country’s largest floating solar power plants.
The facilities generate about 22,450 megawatt-hours of electricity a year, meeting around 17 per cent of Walton’s total electricity demand.
The company also safely recycles almost 75 per cent of treated wastewater through its effluent treatment plant.
Walton has expanded e-waste collection and recycling while promoting plastic recycling and upcycling to reduce waste and improve resource efficiency.
The company said the measures reflected its move beyond environmental policies towards practical action supporting long-term sustainable industrial growth and corporate responsibility.
The awards were organised by Bangladesh Innovation Conclave with support from Sustainable Brand Initiative and Bangladesh Brand Forum to recognise organisations contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals.
A total of 457 nominations were submitted across 19 categories this year. Fifty-nine brand initiatives, including those of Walton High-Tech Industries, were selected following an evaluation process.
