Admitting negligence by the previous government over measles vaccines, Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Health SM Ziauddin Hyder said there is no need for an investigation.
He made the remarks while responding to journalists’ questions at the Secretariat on Sunday morning.
When asked whether action will be taken against those responsible, the PM’s special assistant avoided a direct answer.
At the press conference convened by the special assistant, he said the government aims to ensure primary healthcare nationwide, eliminating disparities between rural and urban areas.
Hyder added that maternal and child healthcare will be guaranteed at upazila health complexes. He further said private hospitals will now be required to have designated units for normal deliveries, which are currently absent.
