BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has stated that if BNP comes to power, there will be no compromise on corruption and law and order issues in the governance of the state.
Speaking as the chief guest at a rally in support of BNP’s Dhaka-8 constituency candidate Mirza Abbas on Monday (9 February) at Pir Jangi Mazar Road in Motijheel, Tarique Rahman emphasised the party’s firm stance on these critical issues.
Tarique urged voters in Dhaka-8 to choose the right candidate for the upcoming election, stating, “You must choose the right person from this area. Only a local representative can address the issues effectively. Remember, outsiders can never truly understand the people of the area.”
He reiterated his tough position on law and order, saying, “If we form the government, our first task will be to bring law and order under strict control. We want to build a country where women can move safely, people can work and do business with security, and everyone can sleep peacefully at night.”
Tarique also reiterated BNP’s commitment to a corruption-free country, saying, “In 2001, under the leadership of Begum Khaleda Zia, we brought the country out of corruption. BNP will continue to fight against corruption in the future. The law will take its course, and there will be no compromise.”
He criticised opposition parties, stating, “Many can speak beautiful words for applause on a platform, but running a country requires specific plans and policies. Where are the plans of others? Only the Sheaf of Paddy can change the fate of this country and eliminate corruption.”
The rally was attended by a large number of BNP leaders, workers, and general public, including Mirza Abbas, the BNP candidate for Dhaka-8.
