Nihan Alam, a student from Mirsarai, has secured first place in the Cyber Security Senior Group of the National High School Programming Competition and Safe Internet Olympiad-2026 at the Chattogram regional level.
The competition was held at the conference room of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) on Saturday.
For his outstanding performance, Nihan received the “Safer Internet Day 2026 Quiz Competition, Senior Category, 1st Place (Regional Level)” honorary crest.
He emerged as the champion among the top five contestants selected from the Chattogram region and has now qualified for the national-level final round. All five selected participants will compete in the upcoming national finals.
Nihan Alam is a class nine student at Maruf Model High School in Mirsarai. Recognised for his academic excellence from an early age, he previously earned government scholarships in both the fifth and eighth grades.
He is the son of journalist Nurul Alam, president of the Mirsarai Press Club, and Jinnat Ara Begum.
