Newly elected members of parliament will take their oath at 10 am on Tuesday, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Asif Nazrul said on Sunday.
“Most probably — I repeat, most probably — under the current circumstances, the oath will be administered by the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC),” he told reporters at the ministry this afternoon.
Quoting BNP party sources, Nazrul added that immediately after the MPs’ oath, they will elect their parliamentary leader at the same venue. “It would probably take place from 11:30am to 12pm noon,” he said.
He further confirmed that the cabinet members will take their oath at 4pm on the South Plaza of the National Parliament Building.
