Nepalese President Ramchandra Paudel on Friday congratulated Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on his election as the 23rd President of Bangladesh.
In a congratulatory message, the Nepalese president wished the newly elected Bangladeshi president success in discharging his responsibilities, according to the Nepal embassy in Dhaka, reports BSS.
Paudel also reaffirmed Nepal’s commitment to further strengthening the longstanding friendly relations between Nepal and Bangladesh, including the deep-rooted people-to-people ties that bind the two countries together.
He expressed hope that the close and cordial relations between the two neighbouring countries would continue to grow in the days ahead.
Maldives President Dr Mohamed Muizzu also congratulated Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, describing the election as a significant milestone in the country’s democratic journey.
In a congratulatory letter, President Muizzu conveyed his warm wishes to the newly elected Bangladeshi president on behalf of the Maldivian government and people.
He noted that Bangladesh’s first contested presidential election in 35 years marked a significant milestone in the country’s democratic journey and reflected the trust placed in the newly elected president.
President Muizzu said the enduring relations between Bangladesh and the Maldives were founded on strong historical ties and a shared commitment to regional stability and development.
He expressed confidence that, under the leadership of President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, cooperation between the two countries would continue to grow in depth and scope, bringing Bangladesh and the Maldives closer in the years ahead.
President Muizzu also expressed hope that Bangladesh would continue its journey towards lasting peace, progress and prosperity during the tenure of President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
