The National Citizen Party (NCP) has announced a month-long programme titled “July Awakening to Build the Nation”, featuring a nationwide “July March 2026” set to begin on 6 July.
The party will organise the marches across 100 upazilas and municipalities in 64 districts, pressing three key demands: implementation of a referendum, job creation, and strengthening of border security.
In a statement, the NCP said July represents a unique chapter in the history of a new democratic Bangladesh, shaped by a mass student-public uprising and the sacrifices of thousands of martyrs. The “July March” aims to carry the aspirations of that movement to the younger generation and people from all walks of life.
From 6 July, the party’s top leadership will simultaneously lead marches in the northern and southern regions.
In the northern region, the programme will be led by NCP Chief Organiser Sarjis Alam and Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari. In the southern region, it will be spearheaded by Chief Organiser Hasnat Abdullah MP and spokesperson Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan.
The NCP leadership said July is not merely a month in the calendar, but a symbol of sacrifice, public aspiration, democracy and justice.
“The main objective of this initiative is to involve people from all walks of life, pass on the spirit of July to the younger generation, honour the sacrifices of the martyrs, and strengthen our commitment to building a new Bangladesh,” the party said.
The party has called upon students, youth, professionals and cultural workers to take part spontaneously in the “July March 2026” as part of its broader nation-building drive.
