Monjila Jhuma, the southern region organiser of National Citizen Party (NCP) and a candidate from Khagrachhari, has announced her decision to step back from the upcoming 13th national election.
She made this announcement in a post on her verified Facebook page on Sunday night. She has also been serving as the NCP chief coordinator for Khagrachhari district.
Jhuma wrote, “Among the 125 constituencies for which the NCP initially gave nominations, I was nominated to contest the election with the ‘shapla koli’ symbol in Khagrachhari 298 number constituency.”
She also said, “On 24 December, the convener of my party’s Khagrachhari district unit collected the nomination paper on my behalf. Tomorrow (29 December) is the last date for submission. I informed our party convener, Nahid Islam, of my decision almost two hours ago.”
