An exchange of views meeting was held between the leaders of the NCP and Ambassador of Bangladesh to Japan Shahabuddin Ahmed at the Embassy of Bangladesh in Tokyo, Japan, according to a press release.
The meeting took place at 10:30am local time on Thursday.
An NCP delegation, which included Chief Organizer (Northern Region) of NCP Sajis Alam, Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary, Joint Chief Coordinator Mahbub Alam, and NCP Asia Representative of the Diaspora Alliance Zubayer Sardar, participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, various problems and challenges faced by expatriate Bangladeshis living in Japan were highlighted. In particular, the necessity of launching a direct “Japan-to-Bangladesh” flight by Biman Bangladesh Airlines was discussed in detail.
NCP leaders stated that if direct flights were to be launched, business, communication, and facilities between the two countries would increase manifold.
The press release went on to say that a demand was made to take effective initiatives for the quick and easy sending of the bodies of expatriates who pass away in Japan back to their home country, with the ambassador informing the delegation that such a process has already been started and efforts were ongoing to make it even easier.
During a discussion on students and employment, the potential and necessary steps for bringing more students and skilled manpower from Bangladesh to Japan came up. At the same time, ways to increase foreign investment in Bangladesh and ease the business activities of Bangladeshis in Japan were also discussed in detail, the press release said.
After the discussion, the NCP delegation partook in various activities organised by the Bangladesh Embassy.
