National Citizen Party (NCP) has announced representatives for 238 parliamentary constituencies as part of its campaign for the upcoming national referendum.
Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain, the spokesperson and chairman of the NCP’s Election Steering Committee, disclosed the names during a press conference on Friday, held at the party’s temporary office in the capital.
During the briefing, he stated that nationwide awareness programmes would be conducted to ensure a “Yes” vote victory in the referendum.
The NCP has decided to announce representatives for a total of 270 seats in response to the spread of rumours regarding the referendum and the lack of a strong campaign presence in marginal and rural areas. The 238 representatives announced in this first phase are part of that strategic move.
Following the announcement, field-level activities are set to commence in the respective constituencies.
Furthermore, the party is scheduled to release its election theme song and referendum theme song at 5pm on Saturday at the Payra Chattar of the Teacher-Student Centre (TSC), University of Dhaka.
