NCC Bank PLC has promoted Md Zakir Anam to additional managing director after he served as deputy managing director overseeing corporate banking, international trade finance, remittance and several other key divisions at the bank’s head office, the lender said in a press release.
The promotion advances a banker with more than 31 years of experience in foreign trade, credit management and branch banking. Anam joined NCC Bank in October 2016 and previously managed its Banani and Gulshan branches.
He joined the Banani branch as executive vice-president before becoming manager of the Gulshan branch as senior executive vice-president. NCC Bank said he made significant contributions to its business growth and operational performance in those roles.
Anam began his banking career at Prime Bank PLC in 1995. He later served as manager of several corporate branches at EXIM Bank PLC, Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC and Midland Bank PLC.
During his career, Anam has received the Chairman’s Best Manager Award, appreciation awards and two gold medals, alongside several other honours recognising his performance, leadership and contribution to the banking industry.
