Entrepreneurs and professionals from Bangladesh’s telecommunications and information and communication technology sector have launched the Nationalist ICT Forum, approving its first full committee on 15 February 2026.
The committee was endorsed after a series of preparatory meetings and recommendations from a five-member selection panel, according to organisers.
The newly formed body has been tasked with drafting a constitution within 90 days and taking steps to convert the forum into a permanent organisational platform.
The forum will be guided by a panel of advisers led by Chief Adviser AKM Wahiduzzaman. Engineer Rafel Kabir has been appointed President and Rowshan Kamal James will serve as Secretary General.
Chief Adviser AKM Wahiduzzaman said the initiative aims to build a strong think tank and professional network among ICT and telecom professionals who share nationalist ideals.
“We aim to play an active role in policy support, skills development and technology-driven national progress,” he said.
President Engineer Rafel Kabir said the forum intends to create a structured platform for ICT entrepreneurs and professionals aligned with nationalist values.
“Our priority is to develop skilled human resources, provide constructive policy recommendations and engage young professionals. Drafting the constitution and implementing an effective action plan within the next 90 days will be our immediate focus,” he said.
Secretary General Rowshan Kamal James said the forum would work to enhance the ICT sector’s contribution to national development and the digital economy.
“We will build an effective network by bringing together ICT entrepreneurs, professionals and young talents from across the country,” he said.
Stakeholders involved in the initiative expect the Nationalist ICT Forum to evolve into an organised platform contributing to ICT policy development and strengthening engagement between the sector and government.
