On Tuesday, the National Citizen Party (NCP) organised a divisional Iftar and prayer gathering at the Rajshahi Teachers’ Training College ground.

Speaking as the chief guest at the event, NCP Convener and Opposition Chief Whip Nahid Islam said, “The parliamentary session will begin on the 12th. We are hearing that the puppet president left behind by the fascists will deliver a speech that day. We want to make it clear: we are not going to parliament to listen to the fascist president’s speech. We are going to parliament to secure reforms. To implement the July Charter. To see when the upper house will be formed.”

Demanding justice for the murder of Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi, Nahid Islam said, “We have heard that Hadi Bhai’s killers have been arrested in India. They must be brought back to the country quickly. Those behind the killing must also be brought to justice.”

Thanking the government for launching the Family Card, Nahid Islam said, “If corruption is not stopped, if loan defaulters are not dealt with, this Family Card will be of no use to the country. Arrange for loan defaulters to repay their loans very quickly.”

Special guests at the event included NCP Northern Region Chief Organizer Sarjis Alam, Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary, Jatiya Jubo Shakti Convener Advocate Tarikul Islam, NCP Joint Member Secretary S.M. Saif Mustafiz, Mahin Sarkar, Tahsin Riaz, National Nari Shakti Convener Monira Sharmin, along with central and Rajshahi divisional leaders.

The event was also attended by BNP Relief and Rehabilitation Affairs Secretary and MP from the three Rajshahi constituencies, Shafiqul Haque; Rajshahi Metropolitan Jamaat Secretary Imaj Uddin Mondol; Rajshahi University Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr Moin Uddin; and leaders from the eleven-party alliance.
