Bangladesh left-arm seamer Mustafizur Rahman has been picked up by Birmingham Phoenix in the auction for The Hundred.

The 30-year-old was signed at his base price of £100,000 after his name came up in the third and final phase of the auction held in London on 12 March 2026. Birmingham Phoenix were the only franchise to place a bid, securing the Bangladeshi pacer without competition.

Another Bangladesh player, leg-spinner Rishad Hossain, was also included in the final auction list. He was placed in the £75,000 base-price category and had his name called during the first round, but none of the eight franchises showed interest.

This year marked the first time The Hundred held an auction instead of using its previous player draft system. Mustafizur’s selection also puts him on course to become the first Bangladeshi cricketer to feature in the competition.
