Kaniz Fatema, 73, the wife of Zainul Abdin Farroque who is an adviser to the BNP Chairman and former chief whip of the Opposition, has passed away.
She died at 10:40am on Wednesday while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka. She had been on life support in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) since 17 February.
According to family sources, her funeral prayers will be held in two stages. The first funeral prayer was held on Wednesday after Zuhr prayers in front of House 43, Lake Road, Nikunja-1.
The second funeral prayer is scheduled for 11am on Thursday at their family residence in Senbug upazila of Noakhali. Following the prayers, she will be buried in the family graveyard.
Zainul Abdin Farroque was recently elected as a member of Parliament from the Noakhali-2 constituency in the 13th parliamentary election.
