The High Court has granted bail to former Awami League member of parliament Momtaz Begum in three cases, including two murder cases and one attempted murder case.
A High Court bench comprising Justice Md Khairul Alam and Justice AKM Rabiul Hasan passed the order on Monday.
Lawyer Motahar Hossain Saju, who represented the petitioner in court, said the cases include the murder of Moniruzzaman in Ashulia, the murder of Sagar in Mirpur, and an attempted murder case in Ashulia.
Momtaz Begum, a popular folk singer, was arrested from Dhanmondi in the capital on 12 May 2025. She was sent to jail on 17 May of that year.
She served as a member of parliament from the Manikganj-2 constituency for the Awami League, whose activities are currently banned.
