A mobile court conducted an operation at a meat shop for selling rotten meat in Jibannagar, Chuadanga.
Jibannagar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Ashraful Alam Rasel confirmed the matter on Thursday. The shop owner has been identified as Aroz Ali, 40.
According to reports, a customer named Badal had purchased 13 kg of meat from Aroz. After returning home and discovering the meat was rotten, he brought it back to the shop. Aroz allegedly became enraged, verbally abusing Badal and his wife and attempting to assault them.
Finding no other recourse, the couple filed a complaint at the Jibannagar UNO office. During the drive, the shop was sealed. The authorities destroyed the seized rotten meat in public view. Aroz reportedly fled the premises upon receiving news of the raid.
