A mobile court destroyed 11 illegal fishing nets in the Bishkhali River in Rajapur Upazila on Saturday morning.
Assistant Commissioner (Land) Shamim Reza Sajib confirmed the matter.
The drive was jointly conducted by the Upazila Administration and the Department of Fisheries, with support from law enforcement agencies.
During the operation in the Badurtala area, the illegal nets and related materials were removed from the river.
The authorities warned local fishermen against the illegal harvesting of jatka and said regular mobile courts and strict legal action would continue against violators to protect hilsa production and river biodiversity.
