The Ministry of Land has taken a firm stance to increase public awareness regarding government-fixed fees for land services and to eliminate the influence of middlemen.
In a press release issued on Thursday, the ministry directed all land offices nationwide to display permanent signboards detailing service charges in visible locations.
According to the directive, every Upazila Land Office, Circle Office, and Union and Municipal (Pourashava) Land Office must install a 4ft x 2.5ft permanent signboard.
These boards must clearly state the fees required for various services to ensure transparency, and instructions have already been sent to all District Commissioners (DCs) to implement these measures.
The ministry-stipulated fee for e-mutation (e-Namjari) is set at a total of Tk1,170. This amount comprises a Tk20 court fee, a Tk50 notice issuance fee, a Tk1,000 record correction fee, and a Tk100 fee for khatian supply.
For a certified or online copy of a khatian, the fee is Tk120, with an additional Tk40 charge applicable if delivered via post. The fee for a Mouza map is fixed at Tk545 per sheet, with an additional Tk 110 required for postal delivery.
The Ministry of Land emphasised that no fees beyond those mandated by the government are applicable.
All service fees, including land development tax, must be paid exclusively online, as cash transactions are strictly prohibited. Citizens who encounter demands for extra fees or face harassment while seeking services are urged to report the matter immediately by calling the hotline 16122.
