The body of Ahmed Ali, a Bangladeshi expatriate killed in the UAE amid the ongoing Middle East conflict, arrived at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday morning.
His remains were brought to the capital on an Emirates flight from Dubai, with repatriation arranged through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Bangladeshi embassy.
State Minister for Expatriates’ Welfare Md Nurul Haque received the body at the airport.
Ahmed Ali lost his life on 1 March in Ajman, UAE, following a missile strike launched by Iran. Airport officials said the body will be handed over to his family once the required legal procedures are completed.
A resident of Barlekha in Moulvibazar, Ahmed Ali leaves behind his wife, three sons, and a daughter. His family plans to take the remains to their ancestral village for burial.
