The government has appointed Md Mehedul Islam as Private Secretary-2 (PS-2) to the Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
The Ministry of Public Administration’s Contract and Foreign Appointment Branch issued a notification in this regard on Thursday.
According to the notification, signed by Deputy Secretary Mohammad Nur-e-Alam, the appointment is conditional upon Mehedul’s relinquishment of any other profession, business, or involvement with any government, semi-government, or private institution or organisation.
He will receive a salary at the final step of the Grade-4 pay scale. This contractual appointment will be effective from his date of joining and will last for the duration of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s term or at his pleasure, whichever occurs first.
The order, issued in the public interest, further stated that other terms and conditions of the appointment would be determined by the contract agreement.
