Gujarat Titans have appointed Australia legend Matthew Hayden as their batting coach ahead of the 2026 IPL season. The franchise revealed the news on March 10, signalling a fresh chapter for their batting unit. Hayden brings a wealth of experience from 273 international matches and over 15,000 runs across formats.

Director of Cricket Vikram Solanki said Hayden’s arrival comes “at a pivotal phase in our journey,” underlining the franchise’s focus on long-term excellence. He highlighted Hayden’s ability to mentor young talent and strengthen the team’s batting identity for the seasons ahead.

Hayden himself embraced the challenge with typical confidence. “Good batting applies pressure. Great batting owns the game,” he said, signalling his intention to instil dominance and consistency in Gujarat’s line-up.

The former Australian star has a history of success in the IPL, scoring 1,107 runs in 32 matches for Chennai Super Kings, and has previously served in a coaching capacity with Pakistan. His aggressive style and power-hitting know-how will be pivotal in shaping Gujarat’s approach in 2026.
