The promotional song of Mastul, starring popular actor and singer Fazlur Rahman Babu, has been released ahead of the film’s theatrical release on 17 July. Titled Amay Bhashailire, the track features vocals by Babu.

Director Mohammad Nuruzzaman’s Mastul had already generated interest with its first-look poster. The newly released promotional song draws inspiration from a timeless line by celebrated folk poet Jasim Uddin, evoking the enduring emotions of rivers, drifting lives and life’s inevitable journey. Music director Labik Kamal Gaurab has given the classic sentiment a fresh musical arrangement for the film.

Director Mohammad Nuruzzaman said the song was not created merely for promotional purposes. Instead, he described it as an artistic expression designed to convey the film’s atmosphere, the inner world of its characters and the emotional depth of life centred around the river.

He added that every element of Mastul’s promotional campaign has been developed to reflect the soul of the film. Following the poster release, the song aims to bring audiences closer to the film’s mood and narrative.

The story revolves around Mokbul, an elderly cook aboard a fuel tanker, and Noora, a street child from a port area. Through their relationship, the film portrays the struggles, loneliness, affection, power conflicts and fight for survival experienced by people living along the river and around the port.

The song Amay Bhashailire further deepens the emotional atmosphere of that harsh reality.

The cast also includes Deepak Suman, Aminur Rahman Mukul, Arif Hasan, Sikdar Mukit, Shahjahan Shovon and Sifat Bonya in key roles.

Before its domestic release, Mastul earned international recognition. The film received a Special Mention at the 47th Moscow International Film Festival and won the Best Artistic Contribution award at the 18th Cheboksary International Film Festival in Russia.
