Marvel Comics has revealed a disturbing new evolution of the Alien franchise, introducing a genetically engineered Xenomorph hybrid in the latest issue of Alien: King Killer.

According to Collider, Alien: King Killer #4 challenges one of the franchise’s longest-standing traditions. Since Ridley Scott introduced the Xenomorph in 1979, the creatures have evolved by using different hosts while retaining the same terrifying life cycle. The new comic, however, introduces beings deliberately created by combining human, synthetic and Xenomorph biology.

The preview follows siblings Idris, Aisha and Zain as they return to the abandoned Institute where their story began, hoping to uncover the truth behind the Xenomorph outbreak on Sovryn. Idris admits he has not returned to the facility since childhood.

The story then shifts to a flashback, where the scientist behind the mysterious Three Kings addresses the siblings as his “children”. He reveals they were never ordinary humans but engineered lifeforms combining human, synthetic and Xenomorph DNA. According to the scientist, they were created to become “warrior-leaders capable of colonising the harshest of planets”.

The revelation reshapes everything readers have learned about the Three Kings. Rather than surviving the Xenomorph invasion through experimental enhancements, they appear to have been designed from the outset as part of a larger vision for humanity’s future.

The scientist claims governments dismissed the Xenomorph threat as just another challenge to interstellar expansion. He instead viewed the species as humanity’s next evolutionary step. Calling the Three Kings “the first generation of the future”, he argues they represent what humanity must become to survive.

Although the preview stops short of revealing the full outcome of those experiments, it hints at darker secrets hidden within the Institute as chaos unfolds during the flashback.

Alien: King Killer #4 is now available from Marvel Comics and comic book retailers worldwide.
