Abdul Hamid Khan, 45, has been killed after being struck by a pickup van at Hatirjheel, Dhaka.
The accident occurred in front of Hatirjheel’s gate number 2 around 12:15am on Monday. Passers-by, finding him critically injured, rescued the man and rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). The on-duty doctor declared him dead at around 1am.
Dhaka Medical Police Camp In-Charge Inspector Md Faruk confirmed the matter. He stated that the body has been kept in the morgue for autopsy, adding that the incident is under investigation by Hatirjheel Police Station.
A passer-by, Kamruzzaman Dipu, who brought him to the hospital, stated that the man was crossing the road. At that time, he was seriously injured after being hit by a pickup van. Upon seeing the incident, he was quickly taken to the hospital’s emergency department.
