Actor S M Asraful Alam Sohag has completed work on eight dramas alongside popular actor Mosharraf Karim, marking another significant collaboration in his growing television career.
Sohag, who hails from Mymensingh, has earned recognition for portraying a wide range of characters in dramas built around contemporary issues and social themes. His performances in both challenging and understated roles have earned praise from viewers.
He first had the opportunity to work with Mosharraf Karim in 2021, in SR Majumder’s Ulat Palat. Since then, the two actors have appeared together in several productions.
Sohag recently completed shooting for eight dramas with Mosharraf Karim in Sreemangal.
Two of the dramas, Adarsha Shikkhok and Goenda Giri, were directed by Samrat Jahangir.
In the same shooting schedule, Sohag also worked with Mosharraf Karim in Jonota Hotel, Sukh Dukh, Goyendagiri, Apon Manush and Ghore Songsar, along with another production.
Shooting for all eight dramas has been completed at various locations in Sreemangal. Sohag has since returned to Dhaka and begun shooting for Sujit Biswas’ television serial Viral Poribar.
Speaking about working with Mosharraf Karim in eight consecutive dramas, Sohag said the veteran actor has been a major source of inspiration and support.
“Mosharraf bhai is one of my favourite actors. I first had the opportunity to work with him in 2021, and since then I have worked with him in many dramas,” he said.
“He is an extremely supportive artist. Sometimes he improvises certain sequences himself, briefs us and even guides us through the performance. That is a huge thing for an actor. Not everyone does that, which is why Mosharraf bhai is different and unique. There is simply no comparison.”
Sohag added that Mosharraf’s affection and advice have helped him grow as an actor.
“His encouragement and advice are incredibly valuable for my future work. I am grateful to Samrat and Ashik for giving me the opportunity to work with Mosharraf bhai in so many dramas,” he said.
Mosharraf Karim also praised the eight productions and Sohag’s recent progress as an actor.
“All eight stories are beautiful and different. I believe audiences will enjoy them,” he said.
He said he had known Taifur Jahan Ashik since Ashik worked as an assistant to filmmaker Mostofa Sarwar Farooki and praised his approach to filmmaking.
“Ashik is quite quiet, but he makes dramas with great care and awareness. Samrat also works with a lot of dedication. Sohag has become more serious about acting than before, and he is doing quite well now,” Mosharraf said.
