A magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck off the coast of southern Italy late on Monday, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The tremor was recorded at a depth of 247 kilometres (153 miles) and occurred about 38 kilometres (23 miles) from Cosenza in the Calabria region.
Authorities reported no immediate casualties or significant damage following the earthquake.
