A low-pressure area has formed over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal areas, which may bring squally weather over maritime ports, North Bay of Bengal, and adjoining coastal areas of the country.
The maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been advised to keep local cautionary signal number three hoisted.
According to Sunday report of National Disaster Response Co-ordination Centre, fishing boats and trawlers stationed in North Bay of Bengal have been directed to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.
Additionally, rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds speeding at 45 to 60 kilometres per hour from the south or south-east are likely over the regions of Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, and Cox’s Bazar.
River ports in these areas have been advised to hoist cautionary signal number one.
