In the proposed budget, the allocation for the Ministry of Home Affairs has been increased by nearly Tk4,000 crore. For FY2026‑27, Tk31,099 crore has been proposed for the ministry.
Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury presented the budget proposal in the parliament on Thursday afternoon. Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad presided over the budget session.
For the current FY2025‑26, the original allocation for the ministry was Tk27,001 crore, which rose to Tk27,174 crore in the revised budget.
The proposed budget was approved by the cabinet before being placed in parliament. Following the consent of President Mohammad Shahabuddin, the new fiscal year’s budget will take effect from 1 July.
