Labour and Employment and Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Ariful Haque Chowdhury has expressed profound grief at the passing of Dilara Hafiz, an eminent educationist and the wife of Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad.
Dilara Hafiz passed away on Saturday while undergoing medical treatment in Singapore. She was 78 years old at the time of her death.
In a condolence message issued on Saturday, the minister paid tribute to her legacy, describing her as an “extremely humane, affectionate, and education-loving personality”.
He noted that she had served in various significant positions within the nation’s educational sector with great dedication and merit.
Minister Ariful further remarked that her educational and social welfare-oriented activities have served as an inspiration to many and have left a positive impact on society. He stated that with her passing, the country has lost a dedicated educationist, calling her absence an irreparable loss for her family, society, and the nation at large.
He also prayed for the eternal peace and salvation of the departed soul and extended his deepest sympathies to the bereaved family members and well-wishers.
