Kuwait has been confirmed as the host of the upcoming French Super Cup clash between Paris St Germain and Olympique de Marseille, to be held early next year.

The Kuwait Football Association (KFA) announced the news on Saturday, confirming the match will take place on 8 January at the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium.

“President Sheikh Ahmad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah has signed an agreement with Ligue 1 to stage the match on the 8th of January,” the KFA stated on X.

This will be the second consecutive edition of the Trophee des Champions to be held outside of France, following last year’s event in Qatar.

PSG, who have dominated the competition in recent years, will be aiming to win their fourth consecutive title. The Parisian club already holds the record with 13 French Super Cup victories.

Marseille, meanwhile, have won the trophy three times, most recently in 2011.
