Zimbabwe fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani is set to miss the 2026 season of the Pakistan Super League after securing a move to the Indian Premier League, a development that could see him replace Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman at Kolkata Knight Riders.
Muzarabani has informed Islamabad United of his decision to withdraw from the PSL, although his IPL franchise has yet to be officially confirmed. He is widely expected to join Kolkata Knight Riders, who were instructed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India in December to release Mustafizur Rahman following the Bangladesh bowler’s purchase at the IPL 2026 auction for INR 9.2 crore.
Meanwhile, Mustafizur has joined Lahore Qalandars for the upcoming PSL, which begins on 26 March, just two days before the IPL kicks off.
Earlier, Muzarabani went unsold in the PSL auction on 11 February but later secured a direct contract with Islamabad United after the franchise released Shamar Joseph. The Zimbabwean pacer has previous experience in the PSL, having won the title with Multan Sultans.
