At least three people were killed in Pakistani airstrikes on Afghanistan’s eastern provinces of Kunar and Paktika early Monday, Afghan media outlet Tolonews reported, citing Afghan government officials.
Najibullah Hanif, head of Kunar province’s Information and Culture Department, said an airstrike hit Nurgal district at around 3am local time, killing three people and injuring several others. A building was also destroyed in the strike.
Local officials in Paktika province told Tolonews that two airstrikes struck Barmal district at around 4am. No casualties have been reported so far.
