BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s physical condition is more stable compared to the past few days, said her personal physician and the party’s Standing Committee member Professor AZM Zahid Hossain.
He said, “A small procedure was performed on her. She has been able to accept it extremely successfully. That means the procedure was done well. She is undergoing treatment in a cabin with ICU facilities in the Critical Care Unit, the ICU.”
He provided the latest update on Khaleda Zia’s physical condition, who is receiving treatment at the hospital, at a press conference on Friday afternoon.
Zahid Hossain said, “BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has been undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital for almost a month since 23 November. By the grace of Allah, her physical condition has been quite stable for the past month.”
He said, “On behalf of our acting chairman Tarique Rahman, Dr Zubaida Rahman, Syeda Shamila Rahman, Shameem Iskander, all family members, and the party, we seek prayers from the nation. So that Begum Khaleda Zia can continue receiving treatment under the medical board comprised of local and foreign doctors under the coordination of the medical board. We pray that Allah grants her the ability to sustain this. We seek prayers so that her current condition can lead her towards even better health.”
In response to a question, Dr Zahid said, “I will say this much: Compared to the condition she was in, today, by the infinite mercy of Allah and everyone’s prayers, and in light of the medical board’s treatment, she is more stable than before.”
