Katthakiya Center of Arts has reached a new international milestone with its acclaimed production Ontoheen, which has been officially selected for the 2025 Next-Generation Asian Artistes Community Initiative, ‘Beyond Borders: Asia’s New Wave’, hosted by the Asian Culture Center in South Korea.
Following a rigorous evaluation, the play will be staged on October 3, representing Bangladesh on one of Asia’s most vibrant cultural platforms.
The production is directed by Katthakiya’s founder S M Hasan Ishtiaque Imran, alongside three noted independent artistes, Anandita Khan, Asif Muhammed Musaddeque and Annessha Biswas Agni, who will showcase Bangladeshi theatre to a global audience.
Beyond the stage performance, the troupe will join workshops aimed at fostering cultural exchange, dialogue and collaboration among rising Asian artists, paving the way for fresh creative partnerships.
This recognition not only marks a significant achievement for Katthakiya but also reinforces Bangladesh’s growing footprint in the international arts arena.
