Actress Puja Chery has embraced the festive spirit of Durga Puja, drawing admiration on social media with photographs of herself in a traditional white saree with a red border.
The actress, known for her role in ‘Poramon 2’, has been less visible on the big screen in recent months. Her latest theatrical release was ‘Masud Rana’, directed by Syed Nasir, which arrived during Eid-ul-Azha.
The film had been completed much earlier, and she has not announced any new film projects in recent months. Meanwhile, rumours about her relationships and possible marriage have fuelled discussions on social media.
During this year’s Durga Puja, however, Puja has been actively visiting temples and pandals since the beginning of the festivities, offering prayers and sharing moments with her fans online.
She visited the much-discussed Durga Puja pandal in Banani on Saptami. On Monday night, 19 October, she shared another set of photographs from Maha Ashtami, once again attracting attention with her festive appearance.
Puja wore a white saree with a red border and delicate patterns, accessorised with bangles and light jewellery. The simple traditional look drew praise from her followers.
The photographs suggest that she attended a puja celebration in a village. She posed inside a pandal set within a house and also took photographs beside a nearby pond.
Alongside the pictures, Puja shared a message wishing for peace, hope and happiness for everyone.
“On this sacred morning of Ashtami, I offered anjali at the feet of the Goddess and prayed that all sorrow may end, all darkness may be dispelled by light, and a new flame of hope may awaken in every heart,” she wrote.
She also wished for a world filled with goodwill, faith and blessings, extending her heartfelt greetings to everyone on Maha Ashtami.
Fans responded warmly to her photographs. One admirer called her “the most beautiful woman”, while another said they hoped to see her in person. A third commented, “One Durga in front of another Durga.”
Puja’s festive photographs have once again brought her into the social media spotlight as she celebrates the religious occasion.
