Popular content creator and influencers Kaarina Kaisar, daughter of former footballer and sports organiser Mohammad Kaisar Hamid and granddaughter of eminent Chess Grandmaster Rani Hamid, has passed away while undergoing treatment in Chennai, India.
The tragic news was confirmed by Kaisar Hamid himself through an emotional Facebook post shared on the hourly hours of Saturday.
In the post, the grieving father wrote that his beloved daughter passed away a short while earlier while receiving treatment in Chennai. He requested prayers for her departed soul and asked everyone to forgive her if she had unintentionally hurt anyone during her lifetime.
Providing further details to the media, Kaisar Hamid said that her condition deteriorated suddenly during treatment.
“While she was being given antibiotics for a lung infection, her blood pressure suddenly dropped significantly. The doctors tried their best until the very end, but we could not save her,” he said.
Expressing gratitude, Kaisar Hamid thanked all those who stood beside the family during the difficult time, prayed for Kaarina, and extended support throughout her treatment journey.
According to family sources and social media updates shared over the past week, Kaarina’s physical condition had turned critical since last Saturday. She was reportedly admitted to a hospital in Chennai after suffering severe health complications, prompting widespread concern among relatives, friends and well-wishers.
In the days that followed, several emotional appeals seeking prayers for her recovery circulated on social media. Members of Bangladesh’s sports community, along with close family friends, continued to share updates and messages of support as she remained under intensive medical care.
Despite ongoing treatment efforts, Kaarina succumbed to her illness on Friday night.
The news triggered an outpouring of condolences on social media, with many expressing sympathy for the family of Kaisar Hamid, one of Bangladesh football’s most respected former captains and organisers and his mother Rani Hamid, .
