Justin Timberlake has hinted at new music in the works, teasing potential collaborations with Pharrell Williams, Quavo, Don Toliver and longtime collaborator Timbaland.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Grammy- and Emmy-winning singer shared the update in an episode of ‘Complex’’s ‘Re-Rank’ video series. He said he had been working in Miami and was excited about the new material.
“I think it’s safe to say y’all saw me on a boat with Que and P. Tim and I are always locked in. From scratch. Just want to say that, for the record, from scratch. I don’t want to hear any of that talk,” Timberlake said, appearing to t
ake a swipe at the use of artificial intelligence in music.
He added, “We’ll see, but I’m really excited about … I’ve been chef-ing. All in due time.”
The singer wrapped up his ‘Forget Tomorrow’ world tour after promoting his sixth solo album, ‘Everything I Thought It Was’, released in 2024. His latest comments suggest he is already working on his next musical project, although he has not announced a release date or confirmed details of the collaborations.
Timberlake has a long creative partnership with Timbaland, who has worked with him on several major hits. One of their best-known collaborations, ‘SexyBack’, initially faced doubts, with Timberlake recalling that some people believed the track would not work.
