West Indies all-rounder Justin Greaves has been named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for July 2026 after a series of influential performances with both bat and ball.
Greaves played a key role in two important World Test Championship matches during the month, helping West Indies draw with Sri Lanka before contributing to a 90-run victory over Pakistan.
His standout performance came against Sri Lanka. After the visitors declared on 549-9, West Indies were 144-4 when Greaves came to the crease. He responded with a composed 180, including 14 fours and two sixes, to help his side stay in the contest and secure a draw. The result also sealed a 1-0 series victory for the hosts and valuable WTC points.
Greaves also featured in two ODIs against New Zealand before returning to Test cricket against Pakistan. Opening the innings, he scored 32 runs at a strike rate of 114.28 across the two matches.
Against Pakistan in Tarouba, his impact came with the ball. Greaves claimed his maiden Test five-wicket haul, producing a remarkable spell that included five consecutive wicket maidens. His bowling reduced Pakistan from 244-4 to 267-9 and gave West Indies a significant first-innings advantage.
He continued to make an impact in the second innings, taking two wickets in his opening two overs. That gave him seven wickets across seven consecutive overs as Pakistan were dismissed for 120.
West Indies went on to win by 90 runs, with Greaves named Player of the Match in both the Sri Lanka and Pakistan Tests.
“It has been a memorable month playing at home,” Greaves said after receiving the award. “To have contributed with both bat and ball against Sri Lanka and Pakistan has been particularly special.”
He added that he hoped to continue making important contributions for West Indies in the coming months.
