More than 100 employers and thousands of job seekers took part in the ‘NextJobz Career Summit and Job Fest 2026’ held at the Krishibid Institution in Farmgate, Dhaka on Tuesday, as the platform sought to create direct links between recruiters and candidates while promoting workforce skills aligned with the changing labour market.
The day-long event, organised by NextJobz, featured direct interviews, recruitment opportunities, career guidance sessions and networking opportunities involving employers from various sectors, industry experts and job seekers, NextJobz said in a press release.
Dr Naznin Kausar Chowdhury, Secretary and Executive Chairman of the National Skills Development Authority under the Prime Minister’s Office, attended the event as the chief guest.
Speaking at the programme, Chowdhury said developing skilled manpower in line with current labour market demands was essential. She said job seekers needed to develop not only academic qualifications but also technical and professional skills, along with communication, leadership and problem-solving abilities.
She said coordinated initiatives between public and private sectors were needed to effectively link skills development, training and employment opportunities. Platforms like NextJobz could help job seekers learn about opportunities and improve their skills, she added.
NextJobz Ltd Chief Business Officer Shoaib Hasan said the company was working with a 360-degree human resource development service model. He said one of its key objectives was to create an effective and direct connection between job seekers and employers.
The event brought together job seekers, recruiters, industry experts and skills development initiatives on a single platform, he said.
A key attraction of the summit was the direct interview and recruitment programme, where 2,500 job seekers participated in interviews with representatives of different organisations for around 750 positions and had opportunities to receive job offers.
The event also featured career guidance from experienced professionals and notable personalities, interactive activities, a raffle draw and open networking opportunities.
NextJobz showcased its skills development platform, NextJobz Learning Lab, during the event, allowing participants to learn about specialised training and certification programmes. The company also highlighted services from its headhunting platform Next Resource, including payroll management and staffing solutions.
The event brought together students, fresh graduates, experienced professionals and senior executives, creating a platform that combined career preparation, skills development, recruitment and professional networking.
