ICC released the weekly update to its women’s T20I rankings on Tuesday. Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana Joty gained four places in the batting list to reach 20th. Pace bowler Fariha Trisna climbed 15 spots in the bowling rankings to sit at 62nd. Both moves follow Bangladesh’s first two matches of the Scotland Women’s T20I Tri-Series 2026 at the Grange Cricket Club in Edinburgh.
Bangladesh lost both games. Scotland beat them by eight wickets on 30 May, with Joty contributing 46 not out. A day later, the Netherlands beat Bangladesh by eight runs in the third match of the tri-series, with Joty top-scoring on 77 off 51 balls.
Joty now sits 20th among T20I batters. Sobhana Mostary moved one place forward to 46th, and Shorna Akter advanced two places to 60th. Sharmin Akhter and Dilara Akter went in the opposite direction, dropping nine and two places respectively.
Fariha Trisna’s rise in the bowling list came on the back of figures of 2 for 26 against the Netherlands in Edinburgh. Marufa Akter, Sultana Khatun, and Shorna Akter also moved forward in the bowling rankings, though the source does not provide specific positions for those three.
Rabeya Khan leads the Bangladesh bowling list with no change, holding 17th place. Nahida Akter dropped two places, Shanjida Akther Maghla fell one place, and Ritu Moni slipped five.
Bangladesh next face Scotland on 2 June and the Netherlands on 4 June to close out the tri-series, before travelling to England for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, which begins on 12 June.
