Jishan Alam’s explosive 21-ball 57* powered Bangladesh High Performance (HP) to a comfortable seven-wicket win over Malaysia in the second T20, completing a 2-0 series sweep on Monday.
Chasing 106 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Bangladesh reached the target with 74 balls to spare. Jisan got off the mark with a six from the first delivery and kept the attack going despite wickets falling at the other end.
Zawad Abrar made a rapid 23 off eight balls, including two fours and two sixes, before falling to Arifullah in the second over. The same bowler then dismissed Ariful Islam for four.
Jishan kept attacking and added 50 with Sabbir Rahman, who scored 12 off eight before being caught on the boundary off Prashant Madhukar.
Meanwhile he brought up his fifty from just 18 balls and finished unbeaten on 57, with seven sixes and two fours. Shamim Hossain was unbeaten on eight.
Earlier, Malaysia were restricted to 105-4 after being asked to bat. Mohammad Rubel dismissed Saifullah Malik for a duck before Rakibul Hasan bowled Aslam Khan for 18.
Captain Syed Aziz and Ahmed Aqil Wahid then added 58 for the third wicket, but their slow scoring prevented Malaysia from building a competitive total. Wahid made 30 off 33 balls, while Aziz scored 40 off 52.
Abu Hider Rony took two wickets for Bangladesh, while Rubel and Rakibul claimed one each.
